Some friends you know when you are young,
Learning and scraping knees together in the sun,
Those carefree days seem so long ago,
One thing remains the same-that friendship that you know.
Some friends you meet and though you may try,
You remain distant though stuck in the same sky,
And as the sky fades so does the two,
And all thats left is the sweet scent of mildew.
Other friends may seem inseparable like twins,
Though as the curtains part so does the scene,
As hard as they may try some things can't be repaired,
Though maybe they can if time is prepared.
Still others may seem the unlikeliest of friends,
And its true for their thread hangs on thin air,
Though in that moment it seems mighty best,
To have someone there to help bear your chest.
